Meet Mike Hughes, a technical specialist and former apprentice inspiring others to progress into science through a vocational route. In this Q&A, he discusses his role leading the team of laboratory technicians at the University of Manchester, as well as his outreach work supporting 16–18 students in their scientific journey and his involvement in the WorldSkills competitions.
